The McCain Update

Today is Mother's Day and in our family, as well as in so many others, it is a day to give thanks to the mothers in our lives.

This Mother's Day, our campaign has recorded a special video message of my husband, John, and his mother, Roberta, from our family to yours. Please follow this link to watch the message and after watching it, make a campaign contribution of whatever you can give. Your time and support is always appreciated.
It would be such a special Mother's Day gift to me and Roberta to see the man we know and love elected as our next President of the United States. I hope you will take some time today to watch the video message of John and Roberta. After watching the video, I ask that you consider making a contribution of whatever you can to our campaign. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Vision for America's Judiciary System

In North Carolina on Tuesday, John McCain outlined his judicial philosophy and vision.

As president, John McCain will look for accomplished men and women with proven records of excellence in the law and proven commitments to judicial restraint to serve on the federal bench.

The proper role of the judiciary has become one of the defining issues of this presidential election. The next president will nominate hundreds of qualified judges to the federal courts and the impact of these choices will reach far into the future.

John McCain will bring care, thought and deliberation to the process of selecting his judicial nominees. The nominees will be men and women of experience, wisdom and humility who do their work with impartiality and honor. They will be faithful to the Constitution and understand that there are clear limits to judicial and federal power. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito will serve as the models for John McCain’s judicial nominees.

Defending Freedom & Dignity

John McCain spoke Wednesday at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan about his vision for defending the freedom and dignity of the world's vulnerable. Freedom confers responsibilities, and John McCain believes we must be diligent in supporting human freedom and opposing those enemies who would strip others of their dignity.

As president, John McCain will promote religious freedom, combat human trafficking and protect women and children. These are issues that demand presidential leadership. We must confront the evils in this world that deny human freedom and degrade human dignity. America was founded on the belief in the inherent dignity of all human life and this dignity can only be preserved through shared respect and responsibility.

This week, the campaign launched the new

A Blogger Tip - Linking

A Blogger Tip from McCain Blogger Resources

The importance of linking is not only the traffic generated through that link, but links are a key element of how search engines determine the importance and ranking of a site. With a group of like the McCain/MV08 bloggers, it is simply beneficial to all involved to give another site in the network, your buddy, a friendly, or well-liked site a link. Here are some ways people like to link...

The Quote: "The House of Representatives faces a historic choice next week when it votes on whether or not to pass the New GI Bill. This vote decides whether our nation will honor its newest generation of veterans and invest in the future of the men and women who have been serving in harm's way. We need your help." from Mad Irish Man's Conservative Consortium

McCain Ace,Chairman and Dear Friend Passes Away . . .

I met Dan early on during the McCain Campaign. If anyone ever thought I was a passionate McCainiac . . .well I can tell you first hand I stood in Dan's shadow.
Dan was very involved in our local politics here in NH. Dan believed strongly in organizing those with common beliefs and protecting them, he did a damned good job of it. From updating the http://www.nhstaterep.com/ Website, or editing the Elephant Prints News Letter to running for office, from sign-waving to walking door to door Dan was there. Dan and I worked on several projects together for McCain. I remember well waving signs with him in front of the Governors Inn....

Volunteers Increase McCain Online Presence

While the McCain online presence has lagged behind the Democrats, there has been a recent increase in supporter run pages. A key element of connecting and promoting the average McCain blogger or site owner has been the McCain Victory 08 Blog Roll. This lists many of the active pro-McCain sites on the web. Some of these sites are strictly dedicated to supporting Senator McCain for President, while others focus on other topics yet also are signed on as McCain supporters. For example this post was originally published at Broad Side of the Barn, a site with a broad focus yet often used to host McCain related pages like the McCain Traffic page. An affiliate of that site is Purple People Vote, a site for Independents and Moderates that is focused on the presidential race. Yet recently there has been the addition of sites like McCain Google Groups, which focuses on state based volunteering and resouces. A couple new and promising social network sites have emerged, McCain Now and John McCain 2008. These site include a variety of features such as individual blogs, and topic discussions. They add a new wrinkle to McCain SocNets; though MySpace and Facebook still have active McCain groups too. A couple of the major McCain contributor based blogs include Blogs 4 McCain and Blogs for McCain Victory. There is always a need to increase the reach of the McCain online presence. For those who would like to become bloggers, or would like blogging tips there is McCain Blogger Resources. It includes a simple how to article for McCain supporters to set up there own blog. As more sites go online an join the growing McCain blogger/online volunteer community the message and reach of the McCain campaign is given a better opportunity to grow. Bloggers, site owners, network managers all welcome newcomers and hope you will consider volunteering online and off.
